Grey Wax Coffee Table

The Inset grooved top is waxed to enrich the natural look of the pine while the subtle premium grey wax body allows the natural grains and textures of the wood to show through.

This was the second piece of Mercers Furniture that I have recently ordered and it has left me feeling slightly disappointed. I’ll start off with why I was not completely satisfied with my purchase.Similar to other buyers, the wood for the top of the table was split upon arrival. It isn’t as bad as some of the photos on here, but it is still quite difficult to ignore after noticing where it is exactly split. On top of that, the paint on the drawer is peeling off. I didn’t have either of these issues with the other Mercers Furniture that I bought, so it is disappointing to see that the coffee table brings down my overall experience. They might seem like minor issues, but things like the paint peeling/chipping is just lazy/poor craftsmanship.It really wasn’t hard to build. It is recomended that two people build it, but I managed okay doing it on my own (it just took slightly longer than the instructions estimated). It is quite easy to put together if you pay attention to the instructions/illustrations properly.The table itself is sturdy. I don’t feel unsafe placing things on top of it or if I try to shake it there isn’t a lot of unexpected movement. I think that some people just haven’t put it together well enough if the table stability is as terrible as they claim it is for them.It seems like there is a common trend when it comes to drawers from Mercers Furniture. From my experience they seem to be very flimsy and a little bit unnecessary due to how small they are. The drawer on this coffee table could be bigger, and again in general the drawer is quite flimsy.Overall, despite the initial issues mentioned in this review, which has caused some disappointment, it still looks reasonably nice and isn’t flimsy (barring the drawer, obviously.) I would recommend it, but be warned, it seems like getting a decent cut of wood for the tabletop is a bit of a gamble. So good luck if you do place an order when it is available!

The instructions and labelling were clear to read and follow so if you are comfortable enough to assemble IKEA or Argos flat pack then you will have no trouble with assembling this coffee table. Giving it 5 stars because for a cheap coffee table it’s quite nice.

Love this coffee table. I surprised myself when I built it! First time ever building a flat pack. Instructions were easy to follow. There was a couple of scuffs which means no one actually checked before packing. Apart from that it’s okay.

I’m over the moon with this furniture. I brought this off my partners Amazon prime as we share a account. For so long IV been wanting some nice grey wood furniture that matched. The smell when you open the box or fresh cut wood 😍 is just Devin. Putting all the furniture together took me 8 hours. They are strong and very sturdy and the instructions were easy to read. My living room looks great can’t wait to start on the bedroom furniture. 1000 % recommend to anyone. Everyone has there own experience but mine was brilliant and I couldn’t be happier 10 stars all way round

I’m attempting to assemble item 4 of 4 from this company. 3 so far have been a nightmare. Rubbish and vague instructions. Poor quality of wood and design. Why oh why did I pick this company.

We wanted a larger coffee table, as we have a large lounge. This coffee table, is really good value, for the price paid, we have our bedroom fitted out with, this style of furniture, all be it the colour, of the wood is all in a natural finish. If you are not looking to spend a lot of money and looking for a sturdy piece of furniture, then this table is perfect, must add a minor issue, the table top is all one piece of wood, a little on the thin side, not sure our they are stored with the seller, the ta le top was a little bowed, but does bend back with the fixing supplied.We have no issue with the table and would highly recommend it, if on a budget and after something sturdy, a great buy 5 stars.

Looks nice but there was a scratch on the worktop. The drink coasters need to be used as well cause it’s very difficult to clean , stains stay on the wooden surface. Quite difficult to assemble, screwing is exhausting. Done it myself but my fingers were sore for few days after. Looks nice though

I did get a replacement surface sent,as the first one was cracked but the customer service was amazing and I received a new top surface the very next day outstanding support, I would definitely recommend this product

We wanted a small coffee table for our new conservatory and this came and was easy to assemble.Yes ok it is cheap and the wood is cheap, but it looks lovely and we are pleased with it. I have bee waxed the top to seal the wood and it looks great

Good quality, easy to assemble but paint work was not very good, had to repaint the Grey as there was patches all on paint work.

The top board was cracked and only realised this one I had unpacked and half waybthrough fixing. All parts had dirt on them so needed cleaning. The legs are not uniform. So had to gluw the top board, sand it and varnish it. For the legs I needed to fix them so that they would fit also. So fun to fix but not if you dont have basic carpentry skills. At the end the product came out fine.
