Grumpy old man –
I was expecting a bigger package, when it arrived I thought it must be a child’s seat (it was the size of loaf of bread) suprise, suprise when I opened it and assembled it to be adult size. It’s good for back packing as it folds down to a small package and comes with a bag, easily fits in a rucksack, although it looks a bit flimsy it’s stronger than it looks.
Amazon Customer –
There are a lot of these style chairs so I did my research and ordered this one. I wanted a small pack lightweight chair to haul to a festival.First time assembly at home was quick and the pull tags were a help when the fabric was brand new. I left it up in the garden and all family members used it and thought it was comfortable. You can assemble in less than a minute. The bag is generous when you pack it away.I found it flexible but sturdy. I was able to balance on two legs while cooking and the side pockets were useful for holding a phone or can. It’s a great chair and much more comfortable than the expensive high back Helinox chair that my friend had – that was narrow in the seat and rubbed her arms.
KatW –
Bought these chairs for a multi-month cycle tour .. bit of a luxury I know (both in terms of volume and weight), however I can’t describe the satisfaction of being able to set up camp at the end of a long days ride and then SIT DOWN COMFORTABLY and RELAX in a chair! It is truly delightful. These chairs endured daily use for months and are still looking great. My husband is also a bit of a bigger person (6 ft 2 in, 100kg) and the chair works perfectly for him too. No issues!
Chris –
This is one of the best things ive purchased. It was bought to be used at download festival, as me and my friend wanted something small and lightweight that could be put away if we wanted to get into the crowds, 2 of them fitted perfectly into his small backpack. Then whenever we wanted to sit down between acts we wanted to see it takes about 2 minutes to set up once you get the knack for it. Surprisingly comfy, my friend actully fell asleep in it at one point which goes to show just how much comfort you can gain. I was worried about my weight in it as im a bigger guy but it held up and it’ll be getting used again. We had numerous people ask us about it when they seen us setting it up or away due to ease of carrying them.
Liam Turner –
I used this for a backpacking trip in Scotland climbing up Ben Nevis and hiking quite a good amount of miles. I’d fully recommend this to someone who wants to add a bit of comfort to their trips for not much weight. The weight was almost unnoticeable (My sleeping bag actually weighed more than this before upgrading that), compacts quite small, in an ideal world if it could halve in size that would make this 10/10.I weigh 185lbs and it didn’t feel like it was struggling at all holding my weight.Assembly is very easy, just unwrap the poles, insert the bottom ones first then use the hoops on the top to pull the catch for the hoops onto the poles.
Amazon Customer –
Easy to erect and light to carry. Just feels to ever so slightly dig into the back of my legs when trying to lean back and relax. Bought for my Vespa rides if we go to rallies or want to have a sit down over the hills.
Jolie Famme –
Surprized just how light this little chair is. Very easy to assemble even for me ,OAP witharthritis in both hands. I don’t dismantle all the time ,I just carry it around its so light itgoes in the boot and just taken out at the other end. Great buy!
Andy M –
Used this at Glastonbury – as did hundreds of others juding by the numbers I saw. Comfy, although it benefits from the sand cover on uneven ground for a bit of extra stability.
Bruce Johnson –
This seems perfect. Only tried it in the garden but it’s very comfortable and feels sturdy and strong. The test will be once I’ve camped with it and sat in it for a good few hours. It is very light and packs down very small. Perfect for my motorbike camping.
Derek Geyer –
Lightweight, sturdy, stylish. Can’t ask for any more. Easy to wrap back in the case when done. Highly recommended.
fiona –
Used at glastonbury, so easy to set up and lightweight to carry around
Duesbury84 –
Was loving this chair until it blew over onto the fire and burnt up. Very comfortable, easy to assemble and lightweight – so lightweight that of they’re is a slight breeze, it’s gone.No spares available unfortunately so if anyone wants a frame, let me know!
Mr. Mark A. Wigston –
Bought for bike-packing. Fits in pannier and is strong and supportive when set up. Appears well made and is certainly worth the price paid.
Nigel jones –
Comfortable and easy to put up. Unfortunately it broke after three days usage, The plastic blocks that the legs and back support fit into are not substantial enough. My weight is 89 kg – well below the advertised max
E. Muhlhause –
No complaints, it’s quite comfortable and packs down to almost nothing. Will be purchasing another one for my daughter.
Aaron –
I’m 6’2 about 90kg and it started sinking into the dirt slowly, it wasn’t super wet but moist.I think it would be best on top of something as the feet are very slim for a large person
Dave Stubbs –
Highly recommended

I’m in my mid-sixties and have just returned from a music festival – from the campervan it was 3/4 mile uphill over rutted fields carrying my old camping chair (weighing 4.3Kg on my shoulder). Every day the beer tent was the first port of call – just to recover from the walk. There has to be an easier way. Amongst the crowds i spotted a few lightweight chairs but many of them looked too low for me to haul myself out of.So, back home and some research – there a lot of lightweight chairs out there, some at prices that made my eyes water and a gym subscription so I was fit enough to carry my old heavyweight thing might have been a cheaper option. Oh, and there were plenty of cheaper chairs out there too – from unheard of brands and often with inadequate description, particularly regarding seat height. But a lot of the camping magazines and blogs seemed to rate the Trekology, it had excellent Youtube videos too. The Amazon listing gave all the important measurements and it seemed perfect. it even came in some bright colours so it would be easy to locate amongst the other festival chairs.Well it’s lighter and a smaller pack than I’d imagined, an easy one-hand carry, a good fit for my rucksack, and small enough to live full time in my over-crowded campervan too. The frame almost erects itself, the tubes fit the nylon mountings with no stiffness at all. Instructions and videos suggest seat first and then back for the fabric – yeah there’s a bit of a pull to get the second seat corner and second back corner to fit, but nothing much – the thoughtful pull loops help and the semi-rigid mounting pockets on the seatcover probably make this much easier than most similar chairs. Is it perfect, no, but at this price point it’s as close as I suspect I’ll find. I’d prefer a higher back but it seems ridiculously comfortable without it so perhaps I don’t need that. The two side pockets are nice and (oh so importantly) large enough to hold my pint glass. But the glass is held at a silght angle so a full pint won’t work – I’ll need to take a swig or two before settling it down (no hardship there!). The chair flexes with my 14stone (196lb, 89kg) but is more than sturdy enough and I suspect flexing is part of the design feature of this style of lighter framed chair. Certainly I feel safe and comfortable in it.Would I buy another one? Absolutely! Will I get one or my slightly older good lady wife to replace her heavy chair? No! Why not? For her, it is just an inch or two too low and the bucket seat sucks you in comfortably, so comfortably that her knees, long past their prime don’t have quite enough power to lift her out. Strange I find it absolutely no bother getting up, just pushing down on the chair sides with my arms, but perhaps it is also a confidence thing. It’s a great shame that Trekology don’t sell the Yizi Go Plus model through Amazon UK or any other UK vendor because we’d get her one in a flash!

A lot of people viewing this product will be familiar with the Helinox Chair One which these types of chair are based on.I own a number of Helinox chairs and also a cheap supermarket own version. This puts me in a good position to be able to make a comparison.I was contacted by Trekology shortly after purchasing this chair asking for a honest review. I have now used the chair in various situations and am very impressed. The Helinox Chair One is a better quality chair, with the poles being a superior finish, and pole pockets being a better stronger material. The Helinox is in some ways over engineered. The supermarket own brand is also a great little chair and performs well. Being rated at 100 kg capacity it is more than adequate for my wife or daughter. I however am close to this and am careful not to drop into it heavily, although it has never felt like it would give way.The Trekology chair is rated at 300 pounds (136 kg) and is made from more substantial tubing than the cheap chair. I have had no problems whatsoever with it even when dropping into it quite heavily. The chair height is a little higher than the others and this makes it a more comfortable seating position for me at 6 foot and also makes it easier to get in and out off.I wasn’t too bothered about the side pockets when I first purchased the chair but have since found them to be quite a handy little feature. The chair is strong and comfortable and I often find myself choosing this one to sit in over the others, much to th annoyance of my daughter who’s chair this is supposed to be.These chairs all have a common fault in that the relatively thin legs can sink into soft ground when sat in. The optional ground mat solves this problem, works very well and I would definitely recommend purchasing one. Some reviewers have mentioned that the rivets on the cross bar have broken. These rivets are only to aid assembly, allowing you to just turn the cross bar for everything to snap into place. They do not give any structural strength to the chair and if they do break will not affect the functionality of the chair in any way. Indeed the Helinox Chair One does not have these rivets although the Chair Zero and Sunset Chair do.This chair is a fantastic little chair. No it is not as well made or as strong as the Helinox but it is a third of the price. It is more comfortable to sit in and I have no doubt it will last for many years of hard use.Would I buy another one? ABSOLUTELY.After buying this chair I wanted to buy the high back chair, which is similar to my Helinox Sunset chair, but unfortunately they have discontinued it!!!!Trekology, if you read this, please bring back the high back chair. 😄

Packs away nice and small ( I attach it to the outside of my pack with a caribiner), very light and well built.
W4ECY3F9 –
First the good: quick and easy to assemble, definitely lightweight, folds up into a small package with its own handy carry bag.The not so good: It’s just too small to be comfortable. I’m 6’2 average build and weight but found the seat too narrow and pinching. Marginally better than sitting on the ground but I couldn’t stand it for long. Seems a bit flimsy too – it did bear my weight (110 Kg) but I felt I had to keep very still so as not to risk bouncing and breaking/bending the supports.I suppose one must compromise to get a portable chair that’s small enough to pack on a bike and, as such, it’s better than nothing…but only just.
Amazon Customer –
There are supposed to be 2 versions of this chair – one with a shorter back and one with a longer/adjustable back. In the link in Amazon it looks as though the image of the black chair is taking you through to the adjustable/longer backed version, but it actually isn’t – Amazon only seem to have the short backed version on the website, so beware if you want the long backed version. This isn’t it.I bought 2 of these (thinking they were the long backed versions), but they are the short back version. Per other comments, the back would ideally be longer to make these chairs really comfortable. These ones are ideal for people 5ft 5 inches and below (my guess). My kids love them. They are ok for me (5ft 8″), but would not be ideal to sit on the beach on for any length of time (>45 mins or so) due to the back length and lack of neck support. They are quite snug fitting, so would not suit heavier people who might struggle to get in and out of them. They are really light weight, very small when packed up, and very easy to put together/take apart, so I think they are perfect for e.g. a quick rest on a hike (and will easily fit into a rucksack), but if you want all day comfort either try and find the ones with the longer back or go for another brand.
Andrew Moseley-Packer –
Bought this for general camping for a bit of luxury and to avoid having to sit on the floor! Can’t fault it – i find the chair really comfortable. Very simple design, takes less than 60 seconds to assemble out of the storage bag but once constructed is very sturdy and feels like it can handle some weight (I’m only 65kg so not really a demanding user I suppose). The only “disadvantage” is that is very lightweight so if there’s a decent breeze and you’re not sat in the thing it will be blown over very easily! If you are looking for a lightweight camping seat with excellent comfort then this should fit the bill nicely.
Chris –
I really like this chair, and I have been throwing it in bags, taking it on dog walks etc. I was looking at compact lightweight chairs and this seemed to be a good balance of weight (just under a kilo) size (I am about 180/190lbs depending on coat / how many cakes eaten etc and 6ft) and cost ( the really lightweight ones are often north of £100 I got this for roughly £30).I have tried to put some pictures up that give you an idea of scale, with the chair up and a pair of sunglasses and with it packed down and a pair of sunglasses. I feel perfectly sturdy in the chair have no tipping issues and personally have no issues getting out of it. It is quite low but this can be an advantage in a lot of tents etc or if you just want to try to keep out of the wind .So in short yes there are lighter more portable chairs out there and for sure there are plenty of heavier ones but I think this works very well for me and is a keeper. It takes me about 30secs to assemble and about the same to pack up so no great drama and the material seems well constructed . Thank you.
Kristopher Moulton –
I use it almost everyday. My only complaints is the Velcro used to secure the frame while packed up is useless. And the coating whatever it is on the back is peeling off. But the underlying fabric is fine. Don’t know what it was for but it almost completely peeled off. Otherwise it is great.I never give out 5 stars as nothing is ever perfect and flawless.
S A CAMPBELL –
This chair had good reviews but I was quite prepared to end up on my back when I sat on it is as it’s so light and thin and I’m a big guy. But it actually is as good as others have said. Super strong and takes seconds to put together. Get one!
Luke Corry –
I bought this chair for camping and I love it. It is more of a luxury item for when it comes to camping as I do try to pack light. But I can’t help myself from packing anytime I go camping. There is definitely other options for chairs or stools that are lighter than this one. But none that are close to how comfortable this chair is. This is why I love bring it with me it is good after a long days hike to quickly set this chair up and be able to relax.
Westyman –
As a very compact chair, it’s excellent. The seating position is a bit laid back though. Erecting it is fairly easy but folding up the frame when dismantling is “fun” !! When it’s in its bag it easily fits inside a rucksack which is a lot easier than carrying other types of chairs.
Robert Walton Dunlop –
Strong and light. I use it for watching football matches so comfortable
DevilsReject –
Ok so this is a quality built chair. I’m just over 20 stone and I can sit on it with confidence, in face I’m camping right now and sat on it! On the grass! And not sinking!! Even without any mat or jam hard lids under the feet. I preferred this as the plastic joints and the metal poles are more substantial than others. As long as you sit in it correctly it will support you. I imagine if you were to drop yourself into it and the chair was at a funny angle or on a hill or something it could break but then anything would with that kind of force, just put it on the ground, ensure the legs are spread (okay this is sounding dirty now) and sit down gently, reposition yourself and lean back with one (or two if you have a stool) feet in the air with confidence. Just avoid sand or wet mud/grass without aforementioned jam jar lids, and make sure if your on a hill you face up/down it as if your on the pi** you could sit on it funny and possibly break it, your fault, not the manufacturers. I would buy another in a heartbeat over the cheap (and the expensive) ones. Oh and it’s easy to get the cover on, no issues at all.
TechBird –
We bought two of these chairs to take on our camping trip. They’re a lean back chair, extremely comfortable, and lightweight. One chair we set up when we got it and ended up using it around the house without any problems, even preferred it over normal furnitureUnfortunately when we got on our trip and used the second one, it broke the second time it was sat on. Its a shame because the first one was fine the whole trip and I’d otherwise be giving a 5* review!I’d definitely recommend checking the build quality of the chair if you do get one, and sitting in it for a couple of hours at home to stretch the fabric / check it doesn’t rip before taking it on a trip.Edit: Increased to 4* as Trekology have a 1-year warranty. I got in contact with them through their website and got a new seat base sent out to me without any problems – not used heavily yet but it hasn’t broken so far!
Gareth –
The media could not be loaded.
I can’t fault this chair. Its great for a quick break to enjoy lunch and for sitting in all evening around a fire. I’m 6’4” and find the chair very comfortable. It’s very sturdy but I’m always careful when sitting down so as not to damage it (I’m 100kg). A perfect chair for the backpack
Steve –
These chairs are sturdy and comfortable, and fold down to a much more reasonable carry size than traditional style camping chairs. These are NOT foot for backpackers or anyone looking to really cut down on weight. Go Helinox if that’s what you need. But for anyone else, these chairs are great value for money, and come with fabric drink holders on each side that hold a can or bottle of something perfectly.Only downsides are they can tip when it’s a bit windy, so put a bag on them or something when you’re not sitting in them, and the legs might sink into very wet ground or sand. You can get separate ground sheets or feet attachments that help with this, though we have not found them necessary yet.
Chris Baker –
I’ve had the Aldi version of one of these for 2 or 3 years which was used for motorcycle rides and camping. The plastic sockets were susceptible to flexing in hot weather and eventually cracked. This seems better made and the loops on the top corners make it easy to assemble.Time will tell if it fares better but not expecting too much, it is not that expensive and the light weight is the main attraction for me.
Wink –
Used a tonne of times and could really done with the ground mat 99% of the time as it does sink A LOT! I would definitely be cautious of the fractures in the plastic too!
pj –
Whether I’m going to a race track or isle man to wach the motorcycle racing or on a campsite this little chair is perfect. I’m 6ft & 13 stone & it’s super comfy. It lacks up small & is light which is perfect for packing on the bike.
Amazon Customer –
Initially a great chair, used for wild camping so was great after a hike and you get the tent pitched. Unfortunately the plastic joints split on me so it started to fail (I’m well under the max weight for the chair). Used on about 5 camps over the space of a year so really only used for 5 sits. Returned to Amazon with no issues. Given my experience of the chair weight (it’s fine, but lighter is always better) I’m trying the Helinox Chair Zero as a replacement, albeit for a few extra ££.
Mr P K Duff –
Bought this as a lightweight camping chair for motorbike trips as my Alpha camp was just too big.I’m 6ft 2, 16 stone and this little fella held up well over a 3 day trip. Wouldn’t want to dump myself in it after to many beers however but then I am pushing the stated limit.Generally comfortable over an extended campfire session but if you’ve got a bad back or knees this ought not be for you.My only gripe would be on soft grass after rainfall it will sink but then they do sell the soft ground cover which would be a wise investment.Takes about 45 seconds to put up. The magnetic tent pole like setup is actually really satisfying. Little tip and put the top half on first it goes on easier.
Paul –
Light Needs strength to assemble, low to ground Feet dig in on soft ground
misspiggy –
I need a seat in the great outdoors as I’m chronically ill, and I need it to be light and easy for an exceptionally weak person to assemble. This works very well, if you get the supportive sand tray as well. I can’t quite do all the assembly myself, but the steps are very simple and someone of normal strength would find it easy.
Tim Moore –
This was not my first choice for a lightweight camping chair. The one I wanted was not from UK stock and had a delivery estimate of weeks. I was soon to embark on a camping trip. On looking again I came across this item. Slightly more expensive but quickly available. I think this is a better design, as the legs and support structure are of a fixed length and so not prone to flexing and wear in joints. When assembled (which is very simple) the result is an amazingly comfortable chair with a good seat height and firmness in the back.If I needed two camping seats, I would definitely get another.
Darren –
I’ve had mine for around a year now, and I always take it with me on my long weekend walks. The chair is admittedly a little fiddly to put together at first, but once you’re used to it this isn’t much of a problem. It’s comfy, fairly quick to put together once you’ve done it a couple of times and even lets you lean back with no issue. I’ve almost fallen asleep on it a couple of times! It’ll also easily fit inside a backpack with at least 15 litres of space from what I’ve discovered, with room to spare.Just don’t set it up on wet, muddy ground. I haven’t had it happen myself, but people seem to be losing the feet this way.
Steve –
Nothing to dislike, it looks well made, I’ve only reserved that extra star for durability which I can’t judge yet – but going on build quality it looks like it’s up to the job.Otherwise it’s very light and comfortable 👍🏼
Matthew Curry –
I was extremely surprised by this, when I first unpacked and built it I thought it was way too small and would eventually become uncomfortable but I was very wrong.I sat on it for hours on my camping trip, you sink into it and it just feels great. Building it is really simple and took me about 60 seconds. It packs up super small and is extremely lightweight. Would be perfect for a festival, I think it is slightly too chunky to hike with but perfect for taking in the car.The only downside is it does kinda feel a bit uneasy on uneven ground, and initially I felt like it was gonna collapse all the time but after an hour sat on it I realised this was unlikely.
Conrad Robinson –
I have been walking and climbing all my life including many multi-day backpacking trips. I have had both knee replacement surgeries. I find it tiresome to get up if I sit on the ground for my sandwich break or a rest. I am now in my Eighties. I have used the chair twice on day walks. At 1.1kgs (as weighed by me) that is acceptable for day walks. If I was backpacking with a tent and all it would be debatable if I would take it purely because of the weight. I find the chair easy to erect and dismantle. Importantly I can get back up easily and it is comfortable giving good back support. So far I am mightily impressed and will certainly be using it on day walks from now on. Although lightweight it appears to be well made and designed. I hope that with care it will prove durable and stand the rigours of my activities and my only reservation is in that area. Time will tell. see: conradwalks.blogspot.com
Richard –
We took a couple of these to our local festival (Beautiful Days near Ottery St Mary – can totally recommend) and we loved racing our fellow festival goers decamping, moving to another stage and re-assembling. These chairs rock! Only not in that back-and-forth motion way. No. They’re just awesome. Quick to pack, quick to assemble, decently comfortable to sit in/on. Best festival chairs we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a few.)
Matteo Luberti –
These are perfect for anyone wanting a comfy chair, without sacrificing too much weight. They are genuinely comfortable, light, and easy to set up. I am a 6’3, 200 pounds guy and fit the chair pretty comfortably. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re much taller, but should fit most people. Pack size isn’t the smallest, but fits ok strapped to the backpack.
Mr. J. A. Hodder –
Extremely easy to put up, super sexy looking and very lightweight and small so ideal for backpacking. I love the seating position, leaning back a little, low down but not too much, very supportive of the base of the spine, and flexes a little to allow for a bit of a rocking chair effect which I also like. Room for a can in each of the pockets on the sides. I thought it was a lot to pay for a camping chair, and certainly more than I’d ever paid for one, but I can see its worth. I wouldn’t buy another £10 chair again.
Simon Argent –
I bought a couple of these chairs for a mini festival I was going to. I was originally a little skeptical about how good they would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. They fit perfectly in my backpack. Easy to put together and nice and comfortable to sit in – much better than a blanket on the floor. The ‘cup’ holder on the side was an added bonus.
Amazon Customer –
Have used a couple of times now, carried two of these in daysack and found no discomfort. Put up quickly and found to be comfortable and robust. Pleased and would recommend.
