Well made and comfortable chairs
Nelly –
Good quality sturdy chair which folds away easily very pleased with the purchase, minor drawback this isn’t a high back chair and doesn’t provide head or neck support
Greeneye –
Really easy to carry and set up. Two suggestions… one would be could manufacturers consider a coffee/mug holder and a way of putting the chair back into the holder without the drawstring always getting tanglier. Otherwise really good product and great back/leg support

Bought three of these chairs to replace the three that have served us well for over 11 years! The chairs are comfortable, strong, lightweight and open and fold away in literally a couple of seconds.I can vouch for their durability and the new ones are improved with padded arm rests.Excellent quality chairs that will outlast several sets of cheaper ones.

Quite simply the best folding chair for camping.I have been camping for many years and have suffered lots of uncomfortable folding chairs in that time. After getting fed up with back ache from the uncomfortable cheap chairs, I swore I would find something better. My search led me to purchase this Coleman Sling chair and an Outwell Goya.I have always found that the design of the cheap camping chairs to be uncomfortable for 2 reasons. Firstly the backs are too upright, practically 90 degrees. Secondly, with wear over time, the seat starts to sag meaning the back of your thighs end up pressing against the diagonal cross beams at the front of the chair. So, chairs that have some form of side structure at either side of the seat to keep the fabric taught, seemed to make sense. Both the Coleman Sling Chair and the Outwell Goya have this, hence my decision to purchase and try both.I have owned both for 3 years now and have used them on many camping trips, outdoor theatre evenings/concerts and for garden parties. They are both good chairs, but the Coleman is the best and that is the one I have bought more of!The Coleman is better because it is lighter, packs up smaller, has a more reclined seating position and has higher back support. They are durable and strong. The only sign of wear is on the plastic feat, where the plastic is wearing out exposing the end of the aluminium frame. They have carry bags with a shoulder strap that is well made, although they are a tight fit when packing the chair away. However, this does mean that it keeps the chair packed up as small as possible. It is a great design and I will buy more when the two I currently have wear out, although that looks years away!

After searching for a comfortable chair, I finally found it..It’s much more comfortable and much more sturdy than the traditional folding or camping chair out there. However, this comes at price of portability, as per the photo I uploaded, after folding,it is still rather big.. it just about fits in my 2018 insignia car truck side ways, and won’t fit in my wife’s Astra. So it’s ideal if you are traveling with a bigger car, but won’t fit in a mid size of compact car.
Andy the Reader –
I bought this chair after reading the reviews on Amazon. It turned up very promptly, within two days. I used it the weekend after when I accompanied a group doing their Silver D of E expedition. At the check points a good chair is essential! I found it to be, as per the other reviews, comfortable and warm to use. In fact, the other people on the trip soon started to pinch it off me whenever they could. However, after several uses, I have started to wonder about the build quality as some of the joints are getting a bit loose and the plastic feet have fallen off, meaning that it sinks into the ground on the wet grassy places where we’ve been this summer, which is why I’ve knocked the one star off.To sum up then, a good, comfortable chair, but probably a bit delicate and not to be knocked about.
Andy Slatter –
We have a health collection of camping chairs, most cheap from supermarkets which are badly worn or have pieces missing. investing in some quality chairs was a great move. the chairs are really comfortable, fold down small for moving around and are really sturdy. A great choice and would highly recommend.
Jacqueline Sansom –
The chair is strong and well made. It is easy to put up and very comfortable with a high back, which my partner needs. The carrying case is useful and the chair is not heavy, although it is a bit long when folded. It does fit in my boot though.
Etienne –
The chair is good, and quality, looks like it will last and is light weight. In terms of style.. the armrests, are narrow and hard, not comfyThe back is a bit low so no head support.

OK – I don’t normally bother to do these but other helpful reviewers helped me find this chair so………….Opened it, sat in it, went to order another one – it’s great. Really comfy and roomy, especially for the larger person! But couldn’t get the kids out of it either. Seems very well made. Very comfy, does NOT get you behind the knees like most of these. Great for garden but would also be good as an extra chair inside for when you have lots of visitors. It is that comfy. Only slight design flaw – back could be longer so I could rest my head…… I can do it (5foot 7) but only if I slightly slump down. An extra inch or so would be perfect but really this is a small niggle in a really great product!
Deirdre Dunlin –
Expensive and quite bulky and heavy but the best chair ever in terms of function. If you are on the large side and/or have difficulty getting out of low chairs this one is just perfect. The back reclines slightly and leaning back is really comfortable. However if you want to sit up at a table the sturdiness and balance is such that you can shift your weight forward and sit upright comfortably. Yhe arms feel really strong and well sturdy enough for you to stand upright by pressing down hard on them, unlike most folding chairs. A really strong comfortable bit of kit, bigger than average but still easy to throw in to the back of the car. And not really that difficult to get back in to the bag. Highly recommended. Go for it!
caroline dawson –
Bit disappointing as under heath both chairs there’s blue stains but the w as no not in stock just to ask for a replacement
Deej –
At last, a truly comfortable and portable chair. Granny loves to go gentle strolls with us in the countryside but age, arthritis and angina severely limit the distance she can walk between rests. This Coleman sling chair solves the problem. It is relatively light-weight and is really comfortable. I could sit in it all afternoon without any discomfort. Many such seats often cut into one’s back but this chair certainly does not. It will accommodate the larger figure with ease. It packs neatly into the pouch provided and can be carried over the shoulder. Well worth the price. I bought two and was very pleased to obtain them. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
Tony S –
I would have loved to have left a five star rating as I ordered one chair & was so impressed when I received it, I ordered another straight away. The second chair arrived wrongly assembled, which meant when you opened it out, one arm went up properly but the other arm went down. I had to take apart some of the chair & re-assemble it properly. Now fixed, both chairs are fine & I find them very comfortable.

Great chairs. Very lightweight and you can tell when you open them that they’re good quality – they open smoothly and the joints and aluminium frame are very sturdy (despite being light). We bought some standard cheap camping chairs (the sort sold in service stations) a couple of years ago and have been cursing them ever since – heavy, bulky, stiff to open and not very comfy. So we’re very happy we finally coughed up the extra ££ to buy something decent. They’re very comfortable and the armrests have a bit of padding on them (they look quite skinny in the pic) so you can rest your arms on them! Chairs also come in a good sturdy bag. Look forward to using them a lot. Definitely recommend!
Jane –
Good quality, I didn’t want it for portability particularly – just a comfortable garden chair. It works for sitting to eat, and for dozing off in – perfect!
L Dublin –
Great product, sturdy chair, very comfortable. Although it’s portable, it’s very very light so you wouldn’t be carrying it too far. Apart from that I couldn’t fault it.
Jill Kahn –
Bought these chairs to fit in an overhead locker in a motorhome where opening is 12cm. No other chairs would fit. These fold to just the right size. The bonus is that they are the most comfortable outside chairs we’ve ever had. The back is high enough to provide neck support for you to rest your head back on and there is no nasty ‘ridge’ metal bar under you legs as with the fishing type. The arms come with little covers which velcro on – great in hot weather when metal arms could otherwise get hot to touch.A good height for eating from a table.Extremely pleased.
Black Rock –
Very comfortable chair, easy to get in and out of, with good back support. Tried a few different folding chairs of this type at our local camping shop, and this one is by far the best. I bought two of them for use in our new camper van, based on the other reviews. I particularly wanted this collapsible type, so the chairs woundn’t take to much room in the van. They are perfect for our needs. If you are looking for a chair of this type, you will not be diappointed with coleman sling chair.
tgrlille –
Lovely comfortable chair with high back for neck comfort. Ideal for camping, picnics and sports days. I like the two tone colour very much. The bag it comes in is a little on the small side. I can get my chair in the bag but with a struggle. In my opinion it could do with being an extra 4cms wide. Height is okay. Would recommend.
MR J. –
Easy to unfold from their snug bags with carry handles for easy transport, these are very comfortable and relaxing to sit in, padded arms, support for your head and perfect for relaxing to read a book or simply fall asleep.
Charlie –
We have been through a lot of camping chairs in our time and then some friends turned up with these! We used them for a few hours, Brilliant, no more cutting the blood of to your feet and no more arms breaking,When folded away these are slightly longer that other chairs, but are a lot narrower, you don’t seem to be able to buy these at your local camping shop any more, but can get on line.I wished I had saved my money and got these when I 1st started camping 20 years ago.
Ed –
It’s a little heavier and a little bigger than other camping chairs but it’s so so comfy.
Mark –
Already have two of these (in red) in the van we use on the dog show circuit. They are relatively light to carry about, come with a carry case and are some of the most comfortable folding chairs I’ve ever used. My first pair are lasting well too, still going strong after several years use.The reason for buying two more is that I’ve just bought a motor home and needed some folding chairs for our adventures.
Dorota –
Very easy to handle, and a totally unexpected comfort! I read positive reviews before, which I based my purchase decision on, but still didn’t expect such a brilliant outcome!! Am stunned. Delivery experience was very fast too, and very smooth. Thank you!
Jim –
Great chair !! Slightly reclining so nice to sit in for long periods of time used mine fishing for a few days and no back ache like normal folding chairs !! Best folding chair for comfort !! Packs down small enough to pop in car boot ! Decent carry bag !! Little expensive compared to others but well worth it !!
Mrs Samantha J Miller –
Bought these as fed up being so uncomfortable in the usual folding chairs as too upright. Used them for our last few camping trips & brilliant. No back ache, no cutting the circulation on the backs of legs &, if you move down the seat slightly, can rest your head on the back. Highly recommend & worth the extra pennies
Analytica –
After looking for ages to find an aluminium frame chair, was pleased to find this one. It seems well made, though a little stiff to open/close at first. I am 5ft 9in and the top of the back reaches the bottom of my neck, but any higher and it would become a bit too heavy. Someone about 5ft could rest their head on it. The best thing is that there is nothing hard cutting into the thighs, also one can press on the arms to help in getting out the chair.
Old SkoolRaver –
I thought I already left a review on this item, so Amazon must be asking me for an update. I had mine around 3 years now and still going strong and comfort. No issues on chairs or guess or myself and even me dogs:) I find them light to carry and compact when put away like all my Coleman gear. I also got the Coleman sling chairs covers to protect them from BBQ etc. dirt, would recommend them if you want them to last. 10/10
female60 –
Bought two of these chairs for our recent summer break and found them extremely comfortable. Being a slightly older couple both my husband and myself found the extra high back supportive. Easy to put up and put away. You could even use these chairs in the house if extra seating were unexpectedly required they are that comfortable. Would highly recommend.
Jim –
Good quality well made and very comfortable 👍
Kate C –
These chairs are very well contructed. They fold up into a much slimmer, although longer, size than other chairs of this style. The higher backs are very comfortable and the seats a little more supportive than other similar models. The metal arms make the chairs seem more sturdy and the only thing they lack is a cup holder although I found that we rarely used those on our past chairs anyway. Highly recommended!
C king –
This chair was just what I was looking for,a comfortable camping chair. We used it for our caravan and all the family in turn found it to be very comfortable but it remains…Mum’s chair. This one is too good to share. The sloping back means you can relax back into it but I found it also upright enough to eat one’s meal at the table at it.Definitely worth the money as it will be used and used again.
Tallbird –
2nd time we’ve bought these – and only replacing our old ones because I had the bright idea of cleaning them with a pressure washer! Yeah. Don’t do that. Perfect because they are umbrella fold rather than fold flat like most chairs, which means they fit in our long, thin campervan locker. Very comfy – although not really lounging sort of chairs.
Lynne sara –
Very light weight and comfy. Only disappointment is used them for the first time this weekend and already the ” feet” have worn through…will have to cobble some rubber ends I think! Also if you’ve not folded and tucked the arms right in tight it’s very difficult to put back in its carry bag! Aside from these issues it’s a sturdy and comfy chair.
Richard Pawson –
Not as high back as expected and getting it back in the bag a bit tight but a very light and comfortable chair .
Mrs. Bronwen Turner –
We purchased 2 of these chairs some 6 years ago and one has got a tear which cannot be mended. Went on line and to our delight found we could purchase the same chair so went ahead. Product perhaps even better than before with cover on arms and a better bag. Recommend. It is easy to store in a motorhome/caravan and nice relaxing chair to sit it – stylish too.
Mrs Ruth C –
This is the second one of these I have bought. Good design, compact when not being used. Very comfy to sit in for what it is. One arm is now a bit loose, after wear. Would like more choice of colours and not so ‘camping’ looking. Can put a cover over it as a spare guest chair indoors. Would buy again (and probably will).
Cathy –
My husband was so jealous of my first purchase of a red coleman chair, that I bought this for him. Excellent quality, great colour and I like the additon of the arm pads which my one didn’t have. If you really are looking for comfort, don’t go for the cheap ones, pay a little more and buy this – you won’t be disappointed.Delivery was prompt and very well packaged.
jenny –
Light and easy to fold.
Amy –
Excellent. Comfortable, easy to open and close. Makes you want to put your feet up.
Garry B –
I was rather dubious about the 4 and 5 star reviews and also the claims of comfort. Like many reviewers I have tried numerous different versions of the folding camping chair and none of them could be remotely described as comfortable. I have now been on two camping trips and the chair exceeded expectation. Without doubt the best camping chair I have come across.
Anonymous 658367 –
This is the fifth one we have bought and these are really comfy lightweight chairs – we have used our other four for several years but now our youngest daughter is ready for a big chair.
Coobagal –
And good to get in and out of for those with bad backs.Just about OK weight-wise to carry from the car park to the beach and sit and have your lunch in relative comfort with no bits sticking into your legs.Would probably have opted for a padded chair if using in the garden, but for travelling this chair is hard to beat.
MontyBest –
I do a lot of time-lapse videography/photography and this chair is perfect to carry to the locations I film.Strong, not too heavy and brilliant for an old geezer photographer with bad knees and a b***ered hip!Easy to get in and out of and strong, very strong, holds my 18 stone frame without a problem.
Christine Hawthorn –
Well made and extremely comfy, easy to open out and to collapse and pack away in the included bag. Although some reviews say that the chair supports the head/neck they do not extend to that height unless you are slightly short in the body. Never the less they are very comfy.
I. Bruce –
These are fairly bulky but are comfortable to sit in. They provide good support.
A. Beaumont –
Brilliant, Brilliant product. Be sure to lube the sliding components for super easy use. I travel and stay in B and B’s were there isn’t usually a comfy chair. It’s great alternative to sticking on a bed watching TV. In fact I am going to buy a spare .
Chris Foreman –
I purchased these chairs after using a couple of Coleman Slings earlier this year in Spain. They were ideal for sitting at the table as well as reclining and the main reason for a sling design was to pack up in our motorhome.Unfortunately they have changed to design and they no longer are as upright, so dining is not that easy and apart from packing up, they offered nothing our existing chairs provide.I have hunted the internet and even mailed Coleman, who say “see our website for all models”
