Delivery on item was really good, it was packaged well and appropriately, not over packed, so good for environment, but packaged well enough to ensure no damaged in transit.The instructions were very simple to understand, it only took 30 mins from before unpacked to now sitting on it typing, and that was whilst checking work pc occasionally as well.I choose this chair, as the dimensions seemed bigger. I am a big guy at 6ft 5″, and sitting the chair my whole upper legs are supported, and the back goes up above my shoulders. The arms rests seem to be at the perfect height, and have a good quality leather top to them.The materials in general seem to be good quality, and well thought out. The contact areas are leather, with mesh fabric to allow for movement on sides etc, so should hopefully stop leather cracking over time and allow padding etc to breathe.They also supplied spare wheel, screws and caps, and the only tool needed to assemble.I’m yet to spend a whole day in it, but if it isn’t as comfy as I think it will be, I’ll come back and edit the review.Well worth the money, especially for something we spend so much time on 🙂

It’s early days, but this chair seems pretty good value compared to the ludicrous prices other office chairs go for. As ever, at least for me, it was a bit of a pig to assemble. You really need two people and even then it can be difficult to get everything lined up. Had to take a section apart and fit it in a different sequence to get it all together. Other than that, the seat is quite firm, firmer than my last, which was a very similar chair.The armrests are nicely padded and the chair has a height and recline feature that, in the case of the latter, can be locked to prevent reclining.My main issue with the chair is the padding at the forward end of the seat part. I can see that this was designed to better support the backs of the legs. It’s a nice idea, but men beware. I find that the bump can, shall we say, push your spherical parts up a bit, so may prove a little uncomfortable for the male half of the species.

I ordered six different office chairs at the same time as they all had free returns and I couldn’t find anywhere locally where I could actually try the chairs in person before I ordered. They were all in a similar price range within £10 to £20 of each other and this was the only one that was comfortable and felt decent quality. The others were either too small or to flimsy or lacked all forms of support and/or cushion. This one was by far the best quality and the most comfortable for me. An important feature for me was that the chair fully tilted and had a rocking function. I frequently put my feet up on something and lean back in the chair and I didn’t want a chair that had resistance when lean back. I wanted it to tilt back of its own accord. The second most important thing for me was the cushioning of the chair because I sit in it for a long period of time playing games or working. This chair was the only chair I tried that actually ticked all these boxes and I’m really happy with it 2 months down the line.

I was astonished at a spare castor, and two spare screws which was a great start.The comfort is great for the price BUT… the back is screwed to the arms so in order for there to be adjustment forwards and back the whole seat would need to move and it does not do this. For me the rake is a bit shallow and so I will need to find something extra to bring the “back support” forwards. As it sits it’s more a lounging angle rather than an at desk typing angle. Shame. Otherwise excellent.

Very comfortable – like a good car seat – though quite wide. This might be an issue in a tight-spaced home office – but it is, of course, up to you to read the description including the dimensions. Took minutes to assemble. Mine came with a spare castor and screw.

Bought as a replacement to my apparently ‘noisy’ corsair T3 road worrier – this now lives in my workshop, as my wife was complaining it makes too much noise (it clunks when in use as its a full steel frame) 5/5 for the T3 in comfort and support from me so now I can be comfy while rebuilding motorcycle bits 🙂 alas I have massively deviated from the product at hand so lets get to it.the SONGMICS is at best a budget chair, it in my opinion is no quieter than my other chair, it also has limited movement and support, its rigid and a little ‘flat’, don’t get me wrong, its comfortable for a couple of hours for sure, but not for long work sessions or gaming sessions, I find my self fidgeting to relieve a numb bottom or to take stress off of my lower back every 30 minutes or so 🙁 its fine for what I need and to keep my wife a bit happier xD but its a 3/5 from me for sure. its not the worst out there and its a decent amount of chair for the money that is true, but for me its just not too good.PS, I see a lot of complaints on the arms snapping, I’m not sure how they manage this? I’m not a skinny dude, nor am I massive, I weigh around 98kg and unless I jumped on to the arms I’m quite sure they would withstand a good and lengthy amount of use.

As a bigger person I always check weight limit and this chair is worth the money, it’s got pelant of room and it hold my weight. The only issue I’ve had is that one of the screw covers dosent fit but the rest do. Easy to put it together aswell

Had this chair a few months now and I do really like how comfy it is. Perfect amount of foam padding for me and decent back support if I decide to sit properly. I have 3 main issues, first of all it was very squeaky but that was easily fixed with some WD-40. Secondly, on the seat itself, the front portion of the fabric ripped and started to pull away however it’s designed in a way that although it looks ugly it’s not affected its functionality. The worst bit is the arm cracked pretty quickly with regular but not strenuous use, just using it to help lower myself down onto the chair. I tried to repair it with super glue but that eventually failed too.

I won’t start from the beginning, but at the end. When I first sat down on it when assembled, I felt like melting away. A nice deep seat and wide enough for my booty. While it feels more like a gaming chair, I can support myself with a back support add-on I bought elsewhere on Amazon to keep my posture straight, or without when I’m just chilling and want to sit back and chill.Now back to the start. I was really cocky thinking this was going to be an easy feat, but alas it was not. The screws didn’t go in the arms properly and it looks like the screw heads were shaved off for some reason so had to keep trying until they were on properly. The only real bad thing about this was that the paintwork on the plastic on the arms are scuffed which looks a bit crap but hey it’s still a 4 star chair so I’m taking the win.Overall, buy this for comfort, but be prepared for the extra work in assembling it.Edit June 2023: I have had this chair for over a year now and here are my thoughts:1. The riser isn’t as strong as it used to be, often I find my seat sliding down but that may be because I am 20 stone and the chair isn’t designed to hold someone heavy for long periods of time.2. The mesh material is practically uncleanable. It has got a lot of dust in it and unlike the faux-leather part I can’t clean it easily. With mesh trainers, all you have to do is put them in the washing machine, but what can I do for a big item like this? All I can do is wipe the surface which isn’t great. When I buy a new chair from SONGMICS I will look for an all faux-leather chair so I can clean it easily.3. The back support is still as good as it was. I bought a separate back support not because the chair’s back support has weakened, but just for that extra support as I suffer from back problems.4. The wheels are as good as ever! Still smooth and do not scrape the laminated floor.Overall, I would buy this again if it didn’t have the mesh panels.

Issues I have had with other chairs is the rollers being prone to breaking in the plastic housing, so far so good with this manufacturer but only had it 4 weeks but all good so far, don’t forget the side arms are rigid so won’t fit under a desk !

Product is just a question of bolting the wheel base to the seat, the arms to the seat and the back to the arms (12 bolts in all). Be careful to keep all bolts nice and loose initially or you will struggle getting the last bolt in. Once you’ve done that just go round tightening all the bolts. I use a small screwdriver for that – makes it a breeze compared to the Allen key they supply. Then just press in the the screw hole covers.The chair back does not recline independently. The mechanism reclines the seat and back at the same time, and it can only be fixed as totally upright or totally reclined, otherwise you can rock back and forth…The height adjustment is fine.It looks nice and the padding seems fine but others have said the support doesn’t last and flattens out. We’ll see. Otherwise appears sturdy. Again, as others note, its light- mainly because the base and the arms are plastic rather than metal. That’s okay with me as long as plastic the mouldings are strong enough. Not five stars because its not perfect (its a chair, for work; my perfect chair is not one I sit in to work!) but seems to be reasonable value. I previously had an office chair from Ikea that was £170 back in 2001 and would have lasted forever but had to sell it because it was too big for my latest office. The replacement was £80 from Amazon and lasted 4 years….We’ll see how this one goes…

It’s an ok chair for the price, definitely looks better than it feels. Easy to assemble, good support. Unfortunately it doesn’t sit perfectly flat, and the chair itself looks slightly tilted to one side, althoguh you cannot really feel it when sitting down. Worst part is the padding, it’s barely there. After two days of use it’s like sitting on a plank of wood. All considered, and with the addition of a cushion, it does the job

I bought this chair 10 months ago and it is extremely comfortable, very stable and moves well over carpets!.Recently as reported in the “Questions” section, the gas lift started to fail. I contacted Songmics asking if the gas lift could be replaced under warranty and if not could they advise on a replacement lift.The Company got back to me straight away and said that they would send me a free gas lift. I consider this to be excellent service and highly recommend Songmics.

When my IKEA office chair gas lift started to fail, I thought a replacement gas lift from Amazon would do the job. Don’t believe those youtube videos showing how easy it is to replace a gas lift. I destroyed the chair trying to remove the chair seat from the gas lift!!Found plenty of office chairs on Amazon, but either didn’t deliver to Ireland or had £20+ for delivery, but eventually settled on this chair from Songmics even though it wasn’t my first choice. Ordered on the 4th September priced £86.30 with free delivery and 14 left in stock. Over the next few days it went temporarily out of stock, but on the 9th September Amazon took payment, Therefor I assumed it would by on its way. No such luck. Last Thursday 17th new in stock now priced at £108.40, but it did not leave Amazon till 4:38pm yesterday 21st with an expected delivery date next Friday. UPS decided a trip to Cologne overnight would speed up delivery and it arrived here in Co Meath Ireland at 12:23pm. Well done UPS.It took nearly an hour of fiddly allen key assembly, but instructions were fine and there’s even a spare wheel roller, bolts and cap. First impressions are that it is not quite as comfortable as the old chair, as arm height to seat level is higher. Will have to be careful arms don’t get damaged from underside of desk when when leaving chair. The chair seems quite sturdy and hopefully will last the test of time. For the money it’s a reasonable purchase. Shame about the delay since purchase date.

Needed to replace current chair in sound studio which was quite expensive. Had a good look through options, came across this model which looked ideal. Having now used it for a few weeks it has lived upto my expectations. It’s comfy, good support and easy to move around. Seems well built for the price, good quality finish.

An office chair this cheap is never going to be super high quality so as long as you’re not expecting it to be, you won’t be too disappointed. At first glance it looks great. But the first issue I found straight out the box was the pre-drilled screw holes in the seat base for the arm rests were slightly mis-aligned. So one arm rest sits two centimeters further forward than the other. Doesn’t sound like a big deal except that the arm rests also screw into the back of the seat and hold it upright. So guess what. The back of the seat is slightly skewed which is pretty annoying. This is just poor quality control at the factory in China but you’d think something as fundamentally basic as arm rests being symmetrical would be simple, but there you go. I guess they ran out of tape measures. Maybe a factory nearby makes them?And the foam padding in the base is quite thick as it shows in the photos, but only around the edge. The bit you really sit on in the centre which takes all your weight hardly has any padding. Another great piece of design. Why not just have a single slab of foam rubber which is the same thickness across the whole seat rather than trying to make it look fancy. That is definitely a fail.So all in all, it’s cheap but far from perfect. Would I recommend it to a friend? No

All these chairs have a fundamental design flaw due to how the back affixes to the seat via the arms – the stresses on the arms typically causes cheap plastic arms to snap.Not so here. In this chair’s case, the cheap laminated plywood used for the seat and the base is too weak to sustain the load transmitted through the screws-and-washers. In the first case the washers in the pedastal tore through the plywood leaving two oversized screw-hole gaps of splintered wood.I was able to fix this by inserting a wide metal plate against the wood to distribute the load from the screws evenly across the plywood seat.That has lasted a while, but then the back-support had a similar issue – where the screws holding the back upright tore through the laminated plywood. Because these screws run through the grain of the laminate instead of across it, this will be a much harder fix.£100 is a lot to spend on an office chair that barely lasted 9 months (admittedly of heavy and constant daily usage). Oh, and the faux leather is starting to wear through in the seat.

I received the chair this afternoon. The parcel is not as heavy as you might expect. Assembling it was very easy. The allen key you need is included although if you have a small socket set with ratchet and allen keys this will certainly be easier and quicker to use. The individual items are clearly marked and labelled and the instructions could not be simpler or clearer. Unlike some self assembly office chairs this is a one person job and should only take 15 minutes.The assembled chair is fine. Obviously I can’t comment on its durability. It’s one of the cheapest office chairs out there but it doesn’t have any obvious fault and is perfectly acceptable. I notice it’s just a little shorter and less broad than the ancient wreck of a chair which it replaced but it’s still fine for me; I’m about 5’10 (1.78m) and wide and heavy and have no complaints. I’m pleased with it and can easily recommend it to anyone who might not usually be confident with self assembly.

I just bought this chair one day ago. Its easy to assemble and thy will give u extra parts too. Seating also comfortable.ButCons1. No recline option which generally provides by normal chair and no arm height adjustment2. Chair make noise whenever you leaned backward and it make some knuckles noise from piston side..It should not make any noise or any of these kinds of thing in single day but cant return back just assemble it and i have to carry this and deliver it to amazon return centre which will take lot of time and energy.

The office chair was bought to replace an old one that had given up the ghost after about 10 years of use and weighed a ton! It arrived very quickly in a largish box with each item well wrapped in various bubble wrap and more dense spongy sheeting. The assembly instructions are in picture form and easy to follow. It all fitted together easily; I took my time and checked every stage constantly, I’m getting on a bit now and have to think about things more than a few years ago. It was all worthwhile, and the chair looks pretty good. Much lighter than the one it is replacing. It is firmer than I am used to but within 10 or more minutes was very comfortable. Then a problem arose, there was a metallic cracking noise coming from the head of the ram that caused a concern. No longer five star! I sent an email via Amazon to Songmics, in Germany, explaining the steps taken to pin down the fault. That was on Saturday late in the day. Here’s where we’re back up to five stars again, my email was answered mid morning on the Monday asking for a few more details. and by return another email from Songmics said that they had actioned a delivery of the parts needed to rectify the fault. The parts arrive via DPD from Germany in a large cardboard box. The box contained the all the parts, except for the seat, back and armrests, needed to put things right. The repairs went well and I now have a fully working office chair that is comfortable and quiet in operation. The concern of the Songmics staff and the prompt courteous service can only be applauded. I have no hesitation recommending Songmics for their product and excellent service when something goes wrong. Thank you Songmics. J.

First off, I feel bad about giving this chair 2 stars, if it wasn’t defective, it would have earned 4-4.5 stars easily. The chair is comfortable, looks smart, has very padded forearm rests and the wheels work flawlessly.Unfortunately, once I assembled my unit as per the instruction manual, I noticed that the backrest was angled approximately 10 degrees away from completely straight which makes the chair uncomfortable to sit on unless you sit on it with a slight angle to compensate. I’ve attached 2 photos to show this.If I could get any feedback from the seller on what to do next, that would be much appreciated. Otherwise I’ll just have to go with a standard return which is obviously a pain to do with a large package.

My elbows have to sprawl out unnaturally to meet the arm support. It seems like it’s designed for a big fat fella (you’d definitely need to be one to fill this), which is probably what the Chinese think of us, but this might go a little bit too far.

I browsed a lot of chairs abs decided on this.I’ve had it over 2 months at the time of Thai review.I literally sit in it everyday. Mon to Friday for 6hrs + and less on weekends.I’m 6’8 and find this very comfy. Just set the resistance for the lean and it’s perfectly balanced.I added superglue to the treads on the screws prior to assembly. As past chairs have come lose.I also used my own personal Alan key set on a power drill to really get it all tight from the offset.Money for quality is great value imo.
