This is one of those products that uses poor quality materials and then is very badly made and capped off with shoddy paintwork.It is then marketed as “RUSTIC” with an exorbitant price tag.Shame on me for falling for this marketing ploy.The only saving grace is Amazon refunded without any quibble.

PROS: The design of this bench is very cute. It is also surprisingly comfortable for one or two people. Assembly was very easy, but I do recommend using your own socket wrench instead of using the included tool, which just strips the nuts.CONS: This bench needs some touch-up and even repairs to make it right and to assure longevity. On mine, at the back section with the butterflies, the welding is broken in two places. I’m just using zip-ties right now until I can ask a friend to weld the pieces back together for me. I didn’t feel like going through the trouble of taking it apart and returning it for an exchange.As many other reviewers mentioned, the paint job is shoddy at best. I plan to prime and paint the whole thing to improve the look, and most importantly, for better rust protection.I was more or less aware of what I was getting into when purchasing this bench by reading other people’s reviews, and I knew it was going to need some work. But I was willing to do that because I really like the design. It perfectly matches a place in our back yard.However, I do feel that this bench is way overpriced. It shouldn’t be more than $70-$75 the most for the quality you get. The issues I encountered are fixable, but customers shouldn’t have to do that and spend extra time and money when purchasing such a highly priced item.Overall, the quality of this bench is similar to an old piece of furniture that you pick up at a garage sale and needs some fixing. Keep that in mind when purchasing this item.

Exactly as it appears
I bought this to put plants on. Since it’s metal I would think you want cushions if used for seating. Sturdy and just like the picture. For those that complained about paint job or that it rusts outside, it’s painted for a rustic look and you should always spray metal items outside with clear coat.

Sitting pretty
After assembling it, we tried it out and it very strong and sturdy. It would have been if a lil’ more effort had been placed on painting the butterflies. It looks like the paint was just slapped on. I plan to give it a better look (jazz it up)and also had a seat caution. All n All I’m happy with the bench, it serves it purpose.I’ll be too cute sitting out front.I found a door mat wite butterflies on it.

Ok first of all it added some cool to the location where I placed.. But its far better with a far view, if we go near, you can definitely see someone tried to cover the bench with some color because they had to.. Its a five star with a better paint job but if the rough rusty look suits your location its super cool.

It is a great bench; sturdy, and easy to assemble … only 8 nuts and they even give you a wrench ,,, Only fault that I have is that the colors are a little dull, not as vibrant as pictured. I expect that it will have to be painted pretty soon as it is outdoors in the weather … ljb

Charming Garden Bench
I ordered this bench for a walkway next to my home. It’s very cute and was easy to assemble, just attach the sides and one bar on the bottom. A small flat wrench is included, but we used a regular wrench to tighten the bolts.It is lightweight, but sturdy. The color is brown with a rustic/aged look, and the butterflies are muted – so if you’re looking for bright colors, keep that in mind. I don’t have a cushion for it yet, but it’s pretty comfortable without one. I love it!

Minor assembly needed
I bought the butterfly bench, along with the matching bistro set. The bench did not require complicated assembly, it was easy to put together. This bench is made of metal materials, so it is sturdy. I bought a bench and cushion set to add some padding for comfort. These Alpine items look beautiful in my greenhouse!

CANNOT GET HELP WITH A MISSING PART
Here’s something crazy…the bench came but there was a missing part that helps hold the bench together. The parts did not come in a secure bag as they should have…they were loose in the damaged shipping box. So evidently one of the Acorn Nuts fell out of the box and NO ONE, not Amazon or the manufacturere CAN or WILL help me get a replacement part. They’re answer is to send me another bench which I declined because what if the same thing happened all over again. No one is securing the parts in a bag! So now I have to go to a hardware store and see if they have the exact Acorn Nut as the one missing. And then it will stick out like a sore thumb because it will be silver whereas the other Acorn Nuts are painted the color of the bench. So much of my day was wasted trying to get help that I never got.

I absolutely loved this bench but sadly in less than a year it is all rusted. I am sad. I bought this as a memorial to my mother that passed away and expected an outdoor item to last longer. Update: Alpine stood by their warranty and sent a replacement bench. I couldn’t have been happier with their resolution.!!!! I paid a $15 delivery charge and the replacement process was seamless. Awesome Bench!
Couldn’t be happier with this bench which arrived very quickly. Looks great, is sturdy and comfortable and is a very easy one-person assembly. Was a gift for mom who is the butterfly lover and she is over the moon with it in her garden. One quick word of advice: before sitting on it or placing a cushion on it, check the arms, seat and seat back of the bench for small bits of wire-like protuberances formed on the metal during the manufacturing process. They snap off easily with no damage done to the structure but you surely don’t want to unwittingly snag either yourself or your cushion on them. Otherwise….this bench is perfect!!

Love this bench. Very sturdy. The iron seat is a little uncomfortable and will need cushion if sitting long. I measured for seat cushion 16.5x 40 inches. The full length of bench is 44 inches. I like this size as I can pull it up to our existing iron table if needed for extra people.

I noticed rust at the joints but because it already has a worm look, I like the slight rusty look. I have some bronze spray paint and can hit it if needed. We will see. I was looking for something different than a “park bench” and this is perfect!

It is a beautiful and very sturdy bench; however, as you can see in the pictures there’s some paint missing on the front leg foot. I really wouldn’t care if it was in the back, but it is right in the front and it’s kind of annoying.

not really worth its price. a cheaper quality imported product given a one sided paint job to make it look antique back side of top bench is unpainted. made of light weight steel tubes it will maybe last 2 summers before it falls apart. not worth the ” sale” price but not worth the energy to return as some thing was needed to fill a space and did not have time to get a replacement

Love this bench. Just put in a play set by the lake and needed some place to sit to watch the grandchildren play. This is the perfect addition. I love, love, love this bench. It was easy to assemble and I did it alone. The colors were not as vibrant so I painted the butterflies to a brighter shade. Lovely entrance.
