Chair – Grade-A Teak | Curved Top-Rail | Delivered Ready-Assembled

I purchased this to complement the Jati Deluxe Banana Bench with 12cm frame and am very pleased with the way that it coordinates. The chair has a chunky frame, although not as substantial as that of the bench and it is also very well made. The seat is generously proportioned and extremely comfortable. The chair arrived fully assembled and covered in cardboard which, although torn, had provided adequate protection.Update March 2013I have owned a pair of these chairs for around four years now. They have weathered well (one coat of teak oil applied year two, nothing before or after) and the wood is still smooth to the touch. Most importantly, the joints are all still sound and the chairs are showing no sign of falling apart even though I leave them exposed to the elements all year round (no covers). I would have no hesitation in buying more of the same from Jati again if I ever decide to expand my collection of garden furniture.Update May 2018I am amazed to see how long I have owned these chairs, which remain sound and with no sign of rot. I added teak oil three or four years ago but decided to stop maintenance at that point and have left them to weather. They actually look a nice silver-grey now and I am pleased with my decision. I like the chairs so much that I have decided to get another pair to place in a different part of the garden. Other garden furniture has come and gone in the time I have owned these chairs but these just keep going strong.Update: almost three years on from my last update and my chairs remain sound and are now a mellow grey, requiring no upkeep other than an occasional wipe to remove bird mess and some moss. Other chairs have come and gone in the meantime, but these have stood the test of time, with the bench and tables from the range lasting equally as well. They were not the cheapest items of garden furniture I have ever bought, but the pieces have provided the best value given the length of time they have survived outside all year round and without any protection whatsoever.

These chairs are really lovely. I was apprehensive about buying expensive chairs without being able to sit on them first to test for comfort but I needn’t have worried, they are sturdy, exactly the right height for dining and nice and roomy to sit in. The way the sides slope down are the perfect shape to put your arms out on then sit back in to enjoy the sun . Very comfortable but cushions needed if sitting for any length of time! They are properly made with dowels not screws, the wood is super-smooth and they feel excellent quality.Being solid teak they are quite heavy and one thing I was told by a boatbuilder friend – DON’T put teak oil on them, use teak sealer. Sealer keeps the honey colour of the wood whereas the oil attracts mildew (black spots). The chairs are supplied with care instructions, no kind of dressing has been applied to the wood so they arrive ‘bare’ – you can put them straight out like this but it depends how you want the wood to age.

If there was a Nobel prize for customer care this company would win it hands down. We ordered two chairs,a bench and a small table and we are very pleased with the quality and service.They should make a training video for other companies, yes they really are that good. We would not hesitate to deal with this company again and would recommend them to anyone.

Chair is smooth lovely to sit in, shame it doesn’t come with a cushion minor detail. Aim to increase the set as I only pitched two chairs.
