Collar Brings Back Coffee Brewing Ritual

A collar is the part of a shirt, dress or coat that fastens around and frames the neck. It is also a term used to describe an investment strategy that limits gains from rising stock values.

With their commitment to craftsmanship, Collar brings back this traditional coffee brewing ritual. They offer tools like a cooktop espresso maker, a coffee grinder with jar, and a milk jug to create the perfect cup of joe.

Cooktop Espresso Maker

The classic Italian moka pot, or stove top espresso maker, is a back-to-basics jug that uses steam pressure to brew deep, full-bodied coffee. Now, Danish design company Stelton has released an upgraded version called Collar that takes a sleek Scandinavian approach to the traditional pot. Available this September, the collection features an updated moka pot, a coffee grinder with jar, milk jug, and sugar bowl all in black. Each piece has a wooden handle, adding another level of simplicity and style that ties the set together visually.

Designed by Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri from Something Design, the colleciton celebrates the daily ritual of coffee brewing. Featuring Nordic aesthetics with a nod to Italian design, the Collar range is perfect for the coffee connoisseur and home maker of espresso based drinks such as cappuccinos and lattes.

With a nod to the timeless shape of the Bialetti Moka Express, the Collar espresso maker is made from stainless steel with a durable black Teflon coating. It has a distinctive octagonal design that sits on the stovetop and is easy to use. Simply fill the bottom chamber with water, add ground coffee to the filter basket and screw on the top section before placing it on the burner. Steam is then pressed through the grounds and settles in the upper chamber, which will brew a rich cup of coffee within minutes.

Coffee Grinder

In a fast-paced world of instant gratification, the coffee-brewing ritual is a reminder to slow down and savor the experience. From carefully grinding the beans to mindfully measuring the water to patiently waiting for the mesmerising dance of steam and grounds, every step of the manual brewing process heightens the senses and creates a deeper appreciation for the nuances and flavors in a meticulously crafted cup of coffee.

In addition to a commitment to craftsmanship, Collar also embraces innovation to elevate the overall brewing experience. Features like precision pour spouts on their kettles and ergonomic handles offer greater control and comfort. With their range of brewing tools, coffee lovers can rediscover the beauty of manual brewing and discover a more heightened sensory experience.

The Collar collection includes an Italian cooktop espresso maker, a coffee grinder with jar, a milk jug, and a sugar bowl. The Italian design duo Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri of Something created the collection specifically for coffee connoisseurs to bring back the sacred coffee brewing ritual. They scaled back the form of the classic Italian moka pot and incorporated a Scandinavian style with an oak handle and black teflon coated steel body. It’s a minimal silhouette that will become the centrepiece on any countertop.
