Wanted a chair for my lightweight kit, one that I could fall asleep in but didn’t break the bank or my back!Really easy to build, like a set of oversized tent poles that almost set themselves up.As with all chairs if this type, it takes a little force to get the last bit of canvas over the frame. The canvas itself is reinforced at the joining corners, and has a high density foam headrest that gives a little more lateral rigidity. It feels very light, but solid enough when you sit in it. The weight of the person compresses the frame making it feel rigid and safe.Really good price, really nice product from FE-Active.Highly recommended.
JMA –
The concept and design of this chair is good (like others of its type) and is relatively compact and lightweight, with metal rather than plastic joints which will hopefully prove the more durable. However the headrest feels very lumpy, the stitching is poorly finished where the seam ends, and the seat itself only relatively comfortable. I’m comparing it with another low back chair of similar design, and that is much better finished.

perfect for the use I needed. it barely added any weight to my motorcycle and was nice to sit on after being on the saddle for 10 hours

Look around beware plastic copies same price, these are Ali and very sturdy
Jonathan Roberts –
Fantastic product, they really do pack up surprisingly small for a large comfortable chair. They do take a bit of effort to get the final piece of fabric in place but nothing too difficult.
Robert Porteous –
Small when packed. But very unstable chair when in use. Best to keep packed and not use !
Ronald –
Fits in my motorcycle Top case very happy with it

I bought this chair because I was looking for a lightweight camping chair to take with me when I’m away for the day on my motorbike or camping out for a couple of nights when the better weather comes.I bought this particular one because of the all aluminium frame construction. Most of these chairs have plastic mounting points for the poles and think they may be a weak point. Once they’re broken it may be hard to get replacement parts, whereas if a pole on this chair does break then I can just replace it with a piece of matching tube.On the subject of the aluminium tubes, I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy they are. They have a thicker wall that I was expecting. The whole thing slots together and comes apart easily. It really does take just a few seconds to build and take down. The seat fabric is excellent as well. Nice and strong and we’ll constructed. It’s also the most comfortable camping chair I’ve ever sat on.I’m just under 6 feet tall and weigh 14 stone and the chair feels nice and strong under me. I even had a wee snooze when I was out yesterday.I know I was sleeping because I heard what I thought was a dog snarling at me so I sat up a bit startled only to find there was nobody around!!!It was my snoring that woke me!!.The bag the chair comes in is well made and there’s plenty of room inside, which is good because a lot of camping things have a bag so small that if you don’t fold things up exactly right then they’ll never go back in.Once it’s packed away it fits diagonally into the green pannier on the side of my bike with room to spare for some other stuff. I was hoping it’d lie flat in the bottom, but then again the pannier isn’t that big.I’d definitely recommend this seat because it’s sturdy, lightweight, comfortable and packs away smaller than you’d think.

Great to travel with, very easy to set up and comfy.
This product is great to travel with, very easy to set up and comfy. I often take a bus and/or train and get rides with friends to camping destinations and festivals. I have to pack as light and as small as possible because I am at the mercy of other’s space and, as a disabled person, I can only drag so much crap. This chair fits the bill. I tried it out at home and I can lean back and even rock a bit in it. Can’t wait to use it in couple weeks!

Engineering marvel – only lost a star for lack of good assemby instructions for tricky first use
Quality materials. Light, packs small, but very comfy ONCE ASSEMBLED. I imagine a lot of people might give up on assembly. First time is not easy. You gotta put the ends into the seatback top ears before finally assembling the tall vertical spars unless you are stronger than average. Will buy again.

Good and solid folding chair – Tip offered regarding use on soft soil
The media could not be loaded.
I purchased this chair as my first FE Active product, and I’m quite pleased by its apparent quality. After having already purchased this chair, I’ve already found another that looks to be identical but is $6 cheaper, yet offers one difference to address my only concern….how well will this chair sit upon soft ground without sinking in? I’ve seen a review already by someone who reported no issues even on sand, but I still like the idea of the chair feet offering a larger surface area to help ensure they don’t sink into the ground. The other chair seemed to offer potentially larger feet to address that issue, but as there is no quoted diameter of the chair foot, it may be no larger than the rubber feet on this FE Active chair. Moreover, the other chair quotes a support capacity 65 lbs. less, perhaps just being conservative, but at least on the surface that means the FE Active chair was a wiser purchase for me, given that I weight 235 lbs. and the 330-lb. rating suggests it is stronger. To address my concern regarding the feet sinking into the ground, my very easy and lightweight solution was to purchase four 3/4-inch PVC pipe elbows that I just slip over the ends of the chair legs and that increases the size of the chair leg footprint enough that I don’t think the chair will sink into anything but softer ground than I’d likely be sitting on anyway. And the solution was a cheap one of $2.60 plus tax.I greatly favor the all metal (aluminum) design of this chair over those using a pair of 4-way plastic braces for assembly. I suspect that is why those chairs also have a lower rated weight capacity.Overall, I definitely recommend this product and I hope I’m even more happy with my FE Active tent that I’ve yet to unpack and check out! 🙂

Awesome chair great price
Love the chairs… work great on the beach for a tiny package when you dont want to carry/cart much… NOTE: they do sink into the sand a bit… as expected… however for the over all size from some beach chairs vs. the portability of these… its in a word “terrific”… One of the little rubber feet did come off the chair after a few uses… I used some two part epoxy to put it back on (lucky i found it in the sand)… and again “i get it ” they are not designed for the beach but i wanted something of small packing size i could take in and out of the beach and have found them to be great… I bought the “hi back”… I have 1 of the low back but for the beach the Hi back is the ticket… also I love that alllof the connections inthese chairs are metal/allum…. I had a competing brand similar design that had the plastic connect points and they failed after about a year… “Kudo’s” to this company” for doing it right and making a solid product for a very fair price… I am a photographer who shoots on the beach somewhat regularly, and these have been a wonderful thing to have in the “kit” to bring to shoots so people, and me have a place to sit down occasionally…. I would say “buy” without any reservation !

Comodo, veloce e leggerissimo

Great chair on a budget
Great chair for the price. At 6′ and 225lbs, I’ve struggled with lightweight camping chairs that can hold up to my size, but sit high enough off the ground to get in and out of easily. This hits the mark and I love the high back and headrest which is a welcome addition.Assembles pretty easily (getting the cover on the first few times is tough, but it’s the same on most comparable chairs even at twice the price – start at the top and it works with a gentle and gradual pull on the last corner). Packs up easily and fits well in the storage bag, and it’s small enough to pack into my lightweight backpacking/canoeing gear.Great chair for a good price,Pros:- High Back w/ headrest and cupholder- Packs up small, set up is easy- Holds up well to my size (I love that the frame is all aluminum without the plastic joints that 95% of compact chairs have)- LightweightCons:- Not sturdy when nobody is in it (be mindful of the wind)- A Velcro tie for packing the poles would be a nice touch to make packing even easier and a locking style pin to keep the uprights for the back facing the right direction would also make it simpler. (Feedback for a v2 maybe).

Fantastically compact, but not without its drawbacks
I’ve used this camping chair on a few trips now, and I really like it – it takes up so little space in the car, it’s really easy to assemble, but there’s a fairly big catch with the lightweight aluminium frame. It blows over ALL THE TIME.I don’t know why nobody else has mentioned this, but the slightest gust of wind while you are not sitting in this will turn this over and leave all your camping friends laughing at you. This is obviously part of this being such a lightweight camping chair, but it’s a serious issue that you really can’t just leave this anywhere or it will blow over. Some similar-design chairs show pictures with the bag slung over the lower part of the frame, and I’m considering figuring out a way to do this, and fill the bag with something – I dunno, rocks, sand, something that will stop it from blowing away in the wind.

Broke the 2nd time used
Bought last year as easy to store extra chair for guests while camping. Used it once last year for couple of hours in a park and haven’t had other use for it until last week, when one of the seat supporting rods broke under 12yo kid. Luckily she didn’t get hurt. The design of this chair is great, folds and unfolds easily, it’s lightweight and fairly comfortable, however the quality is extremely poor. I was hoping for almost $70 I would get more than two uses of it. I can’t imagine cheap ones would be worse than this.

Thus is a comfortable chair with good support and is light and easy to carry
Unfortunately I had to return it as the legs did not have feet and will sink into any camping ground.

Well made.
Appears well made. Not super comfortable. Feels a bit narrow for my medium build hips. I’m 180cm & 78kg.

Fenomenale
Indispensabile

Good choice for high back chair
After returning a similar style but low back camping chair because sitting without a headrest in the reclining position is just not comfortable I researched high back camping chairs. The biggest issue people complained about was the head cushion being too low and/or their head resting on the top cross bar in the headrest. This chair is perfect. I’m 5’9″ and the headrest is perfect. I would say anyone up to 6′ tall will not have a problem.Secondly there is a support (bar?) behind the center of the headrest, not above it so no chance of that problem. We’ll see how long it lasts but in terms of size I’m 195lbs and it feels sturdy and comfortable.

Light, comfortable but flimsy.
Very light but comfortable. Good price compared with brand names.Edit: After 2 trips of 2 days each (so no heavy usage), I have to reduce the 5 stars to 3, because it became flimsy and kind of twisted. It is still usable, but the stability was affected by the twist of one back rest post, rendering it very unstable. Disappointed, maybe it is just a dud, because my friend who has one exactly the same and more usage than mine, has no issue with it.Due to expired time frame for return, I have to absorb the lost. Will definitely buy the brand name even if more expensive.I am 178 cm tall and 100kg heavy.

6’3″ and I find it comfy
I bought this chair for a socially distanced get together with friends in a park. I found it very easy to put together (I initially had it set up wrong, but that was my own fault for not paying attention while assembling). I’m 6’3″ and > 250lbs, and I found this was quite comfortable to sit in and get out of (used it for 3+ hours). Was also very quick and easy to take down and put away, and the carry bag is big enough that it isn’t a struggle to fit back in. This would be a bit heavy and bulk to use for a backpacking trip, but for car camping, or just taking to the park or the beach, I think it is a great buy. Very happy with my purchase.
Linda Hartford –
Great light chair!
I was very pleasantly surprised with the comfort of this chair. I gave it a 4 for stability as the men in my family who checked it out felt like it might lack stability on the ground around the campsite due to the narrow legs, but overall it seems to be very stable.
Erin –
Good for backpacking
I would have given five stars but the feet pop off easily, I have lost one because of this.

Great value!!
Great packable chair for the price. I’m 250lbs and have no troubles with it. I have bought a dozen and plan to buy more.
LL –
Very stable when seated, however, not stable when empty, no side pocket for small items.
Good metal construction without any plastic, comfortable to sit in.However, of the 2 I bought the stitching at the top of the headrest was off the fabric. Had to return the faulty one.The back seems to be excessively high, the headrest does not add any comfort, rather unnecessarily adds to the weight. This extra height and weight creates instability when nobody is seated, any lightest breeze knocks it down. No side pocket for small items like telephone or book. Mesh on both sides is an invitation for mosquitoes to bite.
Kevin Steeper –
comfortable and great customer service
Bought two of these chairs 18 months ago. Some of the stitching on one of the chairs started to come loose during a recent backcountry canoe trip in Algonquin Park. Contacted FE and they immediately sent me a new fabric cover for the chair. Hopefully we will continue to enjoy these chairs for many years to come. I would recommend them for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. So nice to deal with such a pleasant team who clearly have confidence in their product.

Light chair but a little hard to assemble and small for an adult
I have a similar chair to this one but was purchased for more than 100$ and we wanted another one similar but without the price tag. I expected more from the chair from the price in terms of sturdiness and comfort. The difference in prices shows. Not the same quality, not the same comfort and easiness of assembly. It will do the job but not sure how long it will last. I’m a small size adult and I barely fit inside the chair. My husband is less than 6 feet and around 180 pounds and he feels squeeze inside the chair. So will do the job, but invest more if you want something of quality.

GARBAGE CHAIR
This item was given as a gift, and on first use the metal frame snapped. It is rated for 340lbs. It snapped with a person that weighs 200lbs. Do not waste your money on this. You will never receive a refund. Do not waste your time.

Excellent construction, Tippy
This chair is very well built, but when set up I found it reclines back too far and is unacceptably tippy. I’m a tall guy at 6’4, so perhaps you’ll not have the same problem. I sent my chairs back and have received excellent customer service from FE Active.
Neal Chambers –
Great camping chair
Lightweight camping chair that allows for a degree of reclining too if you slump slightly lower in the chair. Way better than the standard fold out chairs. Our camping trip was backcountry canoeing/portaging…so every bit of weight counted. These chairs will accompany us going forward.

Light, compact and comfortable
I like that the chair is light, compact and comfortable. But the craftsmanship needs improvement. I bought two chairs, one bag has a whole because of missed stitches, the other has some rough end of materials that should be stitched in but left exposed.
Brodie –
Great chair and customer service
This is the best chair at the camp site. Most comfortable and easiest set up. It’s got a rocker to it that takes a minute to get used to but once you do it’s the best. Had a problem with my chair, contacted support, quick and friendly answers and they solved my problem quickly.
laurelB –
Light weight
Complicated to set up and too laid back for comfort. Would be great for star gazing! Very light weight, feels a bit wobbly, so far still sitting.
Stephen Peters –
Great little chair
Super light, and small when stored, easy to carry, and after a few tries, not too hard to assemble, now that I know how to, it takes under a minute to put together
Mile Adamovic –
tall backrest of the chair makes it to fall easily.
If you put anything on backrest part of a chair, like, peace of your clothing – chair will fall backwords. Not very light weight, larga package-carry on pouch with a chair in it. Not really for backpacking, multiple day of hiking and camping. nice to have longer backreast for tall people, but as I said-this product need improvement in material and stability.

Leggerissima
Sedie molto comode, compatte da chiuse e leggerissime. Si rovesciano facilmente col vento.

Chair is good, bag broke on day 1
Pretty comfortable chair. I will miss the arm rests the classic camp chairs have. However, the back support and head cushion is great.Easy to assemble. Easy to pack up.Unfortunately, the zipper broke the first time I used it. Because of the pieces, a bag is definitely needed for this chair. A drawstring design would be better.

Slightly disappointed.
Incline is too much making you feel like you will flip backward if not paying attention. Also coming apart at one seam. Disappointed I missed the return window.I bought 3 nature hike brand seemingly similar chairs. Much more pleased with the sitting position of those. All lightweight small form factor chairs which is superb. And for the price all are great.

High back is nice to have.
My friend brought similar chair camping but the back was low. When I started searching for one I came across this chair that has a higher back. I’ve only use it at home but so far it seems really good ( I am light Hough so I can’t say much for how sturdy it is). It’s super easy to put together just be careful you don’t snag your fingers as the poles snap together with bungee cords.
