Got this with another chair of the same type and a small table to compliment the bench seat I already have, not from the same line but simlar style. Nice clean design and nice stain / oil on the wood and it is proper hardwood not cheap pine wood. I am 5’8″, so if you were a bigger build then may be a bit small – I was very comfy in the chair, arm rests were just right for me and nicely rounded.Easy build, did two chairs and the table in just over an hour. A couple of screws on the chairs needed replacing with a slightly larger screw as the orriginal was starting to spin when I checked for tightness, so not perfect but not bad either. A spare bolt was provided to maniplulate the nut that slots into a drilled out hole, which was very useful. Most sets of this contruction you have to fiddle around for the bolt to get just the right position to grip the threads but this made it very easy. Tolerances seemed good, no issues with alignment or fit.

Purchase two chairs. Once assembled one is great, sturdy and looks good. Unfortunately the second is wobbly, has lose joints and one panel has split when tightening the fixing screw, so will be returning…for a replacement not money back.

The split in the wood started to show within 2 weeks even though it has not been used. I have tried to contact the seller but keep being redirected to PlantTheatre site and the chair is no longer listed, so going round in circles, it is the side panels that need replaced, otherwise happy

Don’t waste your time ordering! Two out of three items were damaged/faulty. I purchased two of these chairs along with the coffee table. There is clearly no quality control in the production of these items as the chair slat was split so unusable and the coffee table was also unusable due to a tightening screw on one of the legs falling out from the main frame. A real shame as the design and wood are really attractive.

Lovely quality chair. Good sized seat and nice cushion. Only problem is that the chair is very low. The height of the seat was not mentioned in the details. Only when the chair was put together did I notice that it was low. Purchased for my Dad who is 87 and thought it would be perfect for him. Wanted a chair with two armrests to assist him with getting in and out of the chair. However, the low height is a big problem as he is unable to elevate himself without assistance. I have therefore purchased some furniture leg raisers from Amazon which I hope will remedy the problem. Would suggest that the height of the seat is mentioned in the description.

I bought three of these for my deck. They looked good on the site and ok in person from a distance. Up close is a different story – they will require sanding and finishing before use to say the least. It comes oiled but full of splinters and splits – some quite prominent. The instructions are a joke! 3 pictures with no text. The pre-drilled holes do not line up and it takes quite a bit of tension to align and assemble – I can normally assemble these on my own but needed extra hands on two of the three chairs to line the holes up (I know wood naturally flexes but this was something else!!). The tenons have a brass bolt and nut that is used to pull the assembly tight, two to the 6 (2 per chair) stripped with the slightest provocation and while they appear to be held in place I don’t have any hope of them actually adding to the structural integrity of the chair. The chairs themselves are comfortable enough although the pillow that comes with it is thin enough for you to feel the trestles of the seat below – not the sort of quality you would expect for a chair that is nearly £100. The only reason I am not sending these back is that the prospect of having to undo the work done to get them assembled is grim and I don’t fancy beginning a new search for chairs. Unimpressed.

Many pre-drilles holes were either too small or in the wrong place, so had to drill new holes myself. In itself not a problem for me personally, but if you don’t have a drill, you are stuck

Don’t buy this , we purchased this and it was sent with two right sides to the chair , so couldn’t be put together, asked for replacement sides to be sent , they don’t carry spares apparently, had to go through the whole process of returning it , which may I add you have to wait in for courier all day as they don’t give a time slot , so not very happy at all 😡

I was concerned that some people had found these chairs difficult to assemble but I had no problems. The finish is smooth (no splinters as someone found) but I will wait a few days before sitting on them because there is still some surface oil. They look good and the cushion is very comfortable. All round, very pleased.

The screws on the back that hold the slats to the back wood strip, I had to take the screws off and put wood clamps to straightening the wood strip because it was bowed and then rescrewed the screws back to the wood slats on the back rest.So you need to check the back wood strip on the back rest is straight and not bowed like mind was. Easy fix. Other than that everything was spot on.

Difficult to assemble without help, instructions didn’t help either because they didn’t say to leave the screws loose until all assembled. When lining the holes up, it didn’t look as if they’d match and took several tries to find the best solution. Once assembled, it was very nice to sit in.

As advertised. A generously wide low garden chair. It’s sturdy and was easy to put together in ten minutes – all the pre-drilled holes were in the right place, and nothing was missing. The wood is finished to a good standard – no splinters or rough patches.

This chair is simply not the measurements given. It is significantly lower than advertised. I specifically wanted a higher chair. Otherwise it was fairly good. It went together reasonably well, there were a few patches where the stain/wax had been missed but I was prepared to rectify this myself if the chair had not been so low. The dimensions stated it is 91D x 73W x 90H, but it is more like W63 x D53 x H77cm, which is a significant difference and not acceptable for me.

Just put the two chairs together…First one took 20 minutes,second took 5 minutes (instructions are not great).Easy to put together,but some tension is needed to line up holes.See some people saying they are hard to put together,but they are not (at least the chairs weren’t anyway…like I said above,just some tension needed to line up holes.They look the part, definitely don’t look cheap,wood seems very sturdy.Obviously I my just put them together,so not been tried and tested yet,but first impressions,very nice!.

I bought these chairs for the garden as I wanted something that was comfortable and would last a long time. I’ve seen the reviews where the chairs weren’t great or broke which is a shame but I have had no problem at all with them! Delivery was good. Put together in 10 minutes- no need for extra tools as it comes with everything. The instructions were a bit difficult to understand and the back needs to be screwed on with the chair in the up right position. Otherwise they’re super comfy, with or without the the cushion, perfect height for the table we already have and overall great.

The only reason for not giving this a 5 star rating, is the fact that the chair is lower than I expected. I bought this for my elderly mother, who struggles to sit properly and tends to “plonk” down onto a chair. this was overcome by adding another cushion, but feel if the chair was even another 6 – 8 inches higher, this would not be a problem for anyone.Apart form this, a really great product, of superior build quality.

Little disappointed with this for the money, it’s relatively easy to put together but a little on the flimsy side. Some of the slatts where a little rough and needed to be rubbed down before applying oil. Only time will tell of how well it’s lasts over the seasons. It’s ok but in certainly would not order another one, seen more substantial benches for similar amounts of money.

Lovely to look at, but the instructions to assemble are very poor, and the brace attached to the back rest that supports the back edge of the seat is held on by four paltry screws. Not sturdy or strong enough. I have added four more screws along this section and two more to better secure the seat to the brace. For £150 I would expect better quality. On the plus side the wood is well prepared. Would not buy another.

Instructions are not very easy to follow and one of the fixing bolts sheared, so I had to go through amazon and purchase some more. It was very hard to get to that point. I don’t think, I would have purchased this chair, had I known how difficulty the aftercare process would have been.

So I bought this in January, because price was only £91.00.However, I didn’t assemble it until April and there was a split in the one of the wooden rungs you sit on and a bolt was missing.Can’t return so have had to fix myself.I don’t find this value for money to be honest.

Extremely poor to build up, I had too use extra screws and discard the aln bolts as they did not keep the bench together it just kept collapsing, there were also pre-drilled holes in the end frames which did not match up to any part of the bench frame, I can assure you that if the return process was not such a long drawn out affair I would have certainly sent the product back and asked for a refund.Thanks for the response “So what happens next as I have bought an inferior product which I have had to spend time putting it right”Looking forward to your response againDavid A
